Firstly congratulations to Donna and Rob Barrachina on the arrival of their daughter Amy.

Saint Brendans Website
Thanks to Craig Whincup, Saint Brendans now have a website, and can be visited at: http://saintbrendans.netfirms.com it contains team photos, our sponsors, past results, newsletters, match fixtures and links to other Gaelic Football sites including the State Association. You can also download up to date web browsers and other software, as well there is a link to the search engine Google. So now all the latest news and details about Gaelic Football are on hand with the click of a mouse.

Season 2002/03
The Gaelic Football season commences on the weekend of Friday the 18th of October at Saint Marys Park. This seasons competition includes a 13 a side Mens and Womens played on Friday and Sunday Evenings, and 9 a side Mens played on Wednesday nights, and for the first time 9 a side Boys Under 18. Both 9 a side competitions commence on Wednesday the 23rd of October with the Grand Final on Wednesday the 29th of January.

Nominations for 9 a side on Wednesday Nights
Nominations are now open for clubs or anyone looking to nominate a team. I would love to see people from Saint Brendans involved in other sports like Aussie Rules, Soccer, Rugby etc. nominate a team in either of our 9 a side competitions. Its a great way to keep fit during the Summer and also keep your team together. If anyone wanted to enter a team under Saint Brendans name (to cut expenses) contact me and we will do our best to facilitate them. As per usual new players are welcome for our 13 a side team.

State Team
Congratulations to the four Saint Brendans players who will be travelling to Auckland with the State Team in early October. They are Toby Kildare, Damien Byrne, Clayton Lush and Gino Pegoraro, best of luck guys.

Referees
Our game and Association desperately needs Referees, they are an important part of our game and without them there would be no games. A Referees course is going to be conducted at the Irish Club in the City on Saturday the 26th of October. This is great for anyone interested in Refereeing or obtaining a better knowledge of the rules in Gaelic Football.

Training Sessions
I shall be overseas from Sunday the 9th of September until the 7th of October and also with Toby Kildare currently overseas and not returning until mid September, and away again for the State Games its going to be difficult for either of us to conduct training sessions. But if anyone is interested in conducting training sessions or just having a kick about let me know. It would be good for everyone to have a couple of sessions before the season commences.

Sponsors
As everyone knows Frost Bites Hotel has been very generous and sponsored our club for the last two years and it is hoped they will continue to do so in the future. So if you are considering a Birthday Party, Social Function or a night out on the town drop into Frost Bites and let them know you are from Saint Brendans.

I hope everyone’s Footy and Soccer season is going well and looking forward to playing in your respective finals, and after a break can look forward to the Gaelic Football Season.
